It’s a beautiful Coronation Day morning here in Lakeland. The contrast between my not meeting a single person on my dewy sunrise walk and my thinking of the tens of thousands lining the streets of London this morning could not have been greater. On this historic day I wish for King Charles and Queen Camilla all the strength and sustenance they will need, and for all the nations on earth – peace and goodwill.

Your little corner of the world looks so cozy and charming, Simon! And what a grand day for England. Amazing to watch ‘lived tradition’ in this day and age when I feel so much is transient. Xox

‘Lived tradition’ – what a lovely phrase. And yes indeed, it was a grand day – and altogether a memorable weekend. Hugs 🤗 xx

I love these pictures, Simon! Cozy and welcoming (and the idyllic backdrop to another episode of Midsummer Murders (not the mystery or murder parts, rather the welcoming of the location). Frequent trips to London pre-retirement, allow me to watch the coronation with a familiarity for which I’m grateful. That said, to watch it from Lakeland would be fabulous! Xx
