Let it not be said that āthereās never anything on the tellyā. Weāve been awestruck with ITVās Victoria and wishing every episode were longer. And though we didnāt know of the existence of The Great British Bake Off until the beginning of the sixth series (!) we absolutely know of it now. Oh, and then we saw Bridget Jonesā Baby this week! Square eyes (and other horror stories) set aside for a moment, the impression left with me by these works of art is that this world is home to some truly feeling, fragile, funny, gorgeous, kind, sensitive, thinking and altogether wonderful human persons.
Loved “Victoria”. Looking forward to the next promised series. I attempted to make some Jaffa cakes a la “Bake Off.” The Jelly wouldn’t set, so I ended up looking up the recipe. Found I’d made it too thin. Had an expensive trip to “Lakeland” for new pastry cutters and a suitable tray. Next try very successful, but the assistant in Lakeland suggested it would be better to have bought a packet of them for fraction of the price!

Well done you! Bake off wouldn’t be the same if everyone just brought along a box of McVities, would it? xx
