Natural gesture

You may doubt if you can ever find words to say to God, or to the Vast Silence of creation, or will never find a way to speak back your own words to the utterances of God heard among beautiful created things. Try this, especially when faced with great beauty: simply put your hand on your heart. Is this not a kind of natural gesture of gratitude? Does it not express an attitude of hallowed silence, of humble appreciation? Most people would see it as such: your hand or both hands on your heart speaks volumes to those who observe it. And if there is a God, God observes it. You have prayed. Use it daily and hourly if you like. For me it never wears out.
